Remnants of winter on the first day of March

Seems to be the darkest of all,

Snow is silent, slow and soft,

White but not quite divine.

My soul imprisoned in chain,

Soul drifting in cold, wisps of vapour

from my winter breath.

Death owns a time, this cold afternoon will pass,

And while I dwell on my sentimental journey,

its biting wind, I'll try to endure.

This troubled sky ‘though not quite in despair,

Makes my eyes thick and droopy with heavy tears.

Now, the ground is thick with slush and sleet,

The day is ending and the night is descending;

I’m still far away from home to huddle and cuddle,

But soon, soon, I will be there for mama’s chicken soup.

This is simply wonderful! Great thought and great flow and a 90% degree of visible truth I love it CrisSp.

Thanks you again for a well thought out answer , it I will say is brilliant and it's great that I believe yourself and Homesteadbound, gave the most sincere answers, They should be many like those to follow because that's what it is. She will come back , rest assured.

      Thank you both.

      God bless

You've touched my heart with your last sentence, "She will come back, rest assured"--fingers cross on that and high hopes. Thank you for your very kind comment sky9106. For now, I will try to be happy and reach out through hubbing. Peace~

Mother is always at the top regardless. Moms are God's representative, we can never run away from that. You to your mom and your children to you, every good kid will live to regret that what they have done that's not correct, especially towards their Mother!

Stay strong , it shall be well.

      Bless.

Again, thank you kindly Sky9106. Let me share with you, what I just read online today in my quest for inner peace: "Sadly, some will never understand the love and care we have for them, until we become a memory"--unknown. I think, I will expand that quote in my next hub. Until then...

A sad poem with a solace ending! Winter can be depressing and Mom's soup always helps. Good poem!

As I am up north here, there's no escaping winter and so to stay positive, might as well just embrace the beauty of it.
