Thank You: A Poem

Updated on September 15, 2011

Thank you for breaking my heart

If it wasn’t for you

I’d never have this brand new start

I would never as much appreciate

This love I have now

Wouldn’t be in such a happy state

Thank you for giving me pain

Because without it

I wouldn’t be able to relate to others’ strains

I would never know that love is not

What I had with you

Is not like a rose, it’s more like a forget-me-not…

Hi Ms Erin! I read the poem again, and, really, there's an element of 2 Corinthians 1.4, right?

Nice; an unusual sentiment; almost like a humbling, spiritual journey rather than an unrequited love story.
