A Poem -The Child Inside
The Child Inside
Things just seem so different in the eyes of a child. And as we grow they change,or is it the child who changes? We come into this world so innocent,so much time and freedom.Nothing seems out of place to a child-everything just seems to fit right in. Each year we grow, learning, creating, experiencing so many different things. The brain begins to overflow with information.Things to remember, things to do, plain and simple knowledge-we add in everyday life. Can we delete information, like on a disk,to make room for new? It seems there is so much to know and understand, sometimes we forget. When we are old enough to raise our own children,we realize that we are just a big child ourselves. The once organized floppy disk so crammed with information becomes a sloppy disk. No room to move past information to the front. The memory file flashes enough times,so you know- it's in there somewhere. But,why does it seem so hard to relate to your child's feelings and experiences? Were they ever really experienced in your childhood? How were they dealt with or were they dealt with at all? So many things change in life. But do they really change? Or does the child inside of us just change?
