The Ocean Waves

Updated on July 26, 2011

As we sit and watch the waves flow...a sense of euphoria overtakes every emotion...careless freedoms arisen,
Passions that unleash furies of happiness and stout upwinds...the housing factor of a thousand islands pulsating in the sun.

We sit and we think...think how the worlds are connected a,png massive oceans of clear blue to brackish extremities,
Dolphins swimming among the vibrations of the planets heartbeat...the wind blows the leaves of foreign trees among the salty air.

Have we forgotten Gaia's true cause...honing her skill as the mass creator...a must have action her swift swift ways,
Toting a book bag of knowledge upon her back...totem poles of mythological perfections that show the ancient whereabouts of time itself.

As we watch the waves crash against the grains of sand...we wonder if this was what life was meant to be like,
To just sit here and enjoy life as it comes...breathing the fresh air as we play in the sand with our families....but i just woke's time to go to work.

Thank you Chitrangada and Gypsy Rose, I appreciate your compliments. I personally think everyone should see the waves, whether in person or through poetry of the sort. A Sea breeze always calms the mind.

I really enjoyed this. There is another heartbeat we can hear when close to the ocean and I think this is much closer to 'real life' than 'work'. Nicely done!

      Hi Mark...

This poem makes me long for the beach I used to know and love when I was young. The smell of cocoa butter suntan lotion; the brown bodies in the sand and surf; floating on your back on the ocean swells beyond the crashing waves; the gulls sqwuaking overhead and stealing your entire big bag of Doritos sitting right next to you (true story!); the sea spray; the smell of the salty, ocean air; rollerskaters and cyclists on the bike path; laying on your beach towel in the warm, lumpy bumpy sand and wiggling until you get it smooth and just right underneath you; falling asleep and nobody waking you up until you look like a lobster...on only one side. All of it. I didn't realize just how much I missed it until now.

Thanks for the reminiscence, Mark. (:

      Well worded. Great write.

      Voted UP, A & B

I'm gonna go check out some more of your Hubs!
