The Rain Comes to Wash
The rain comes to wash away the hidden sins
Kept deep inside so that no man can see
It is guilt consumed by darkness
Locked inside the box called the soul
Open the box at the first sound of thunder
Let the hidden darkness be carried by
Torrents of water as the skies open
And the rain pours from heaven
A pounding tempest created to free
The tortured ones that dwell
In secret prisons created by their own hands
Come, O Great Storm, Come
Wash away all that makes your children unclean
For it is more than we can bear
Refresh us, heal us, make us whole
White and pure like we were before birth
Before we lived and walked this earth
Before we fell from grace
And hid our faces from you.
