The World of Undiscovered Poets: Daniel Hinton

Updated on June 19, 2013

Passion is the spice of life and there's nothing more passionate than a young poet who's just starting to discover the chaotic world we live in. When I was in my 20s, life was about breaking hearts and getting my heart broken, and I was an emotional wreck until I reached my 30's. Now that I'm older, I find that I miss those days of passion and whenever I come across a young poet who pours passion into his words, I get excited. World, I would like you to meet:

Daniel Hinton

Daniel was introduced to poetry in his Senior year of high school after experiencing a brutal heart break. The young lady stole his heart for a season, but ultimately left him for another guy. This experience caused Daniel to write his very first poem which you can read at the link below.

Daniel Hinton's First Poem

Daniel's poetry is influenced by his life. He describes himself as "that guy who sees a flock of birds fly by, pauses, then looks up again to see another bird lagging behind and gets filled with overwhelming hopelessness and sadness". This emotional side to Daniel's psyche is what makes him so gifted at writing poetry. The following poem is an original creation which Daniel has allowed me to share with you.

Fantasy by Daniel Hinton

Take a moment to witness everything you see, every thought, every emotion – feeling, or belief. Now ask yourself what you are doing, exactly where you are? Are you following a path for you, or resembling shapes in the stars?

Did you get here by car – or did imagination take the wheel? Was it an idea in motion that made your existence become this real, an idea that came to you like a message drifting through the sea of your dreams, an idea perfect for your life and all that you mean?

Does the idea mean well – and is it helping you through life? Did it tell you the first time or did you have to ask twice? Did it just come to you when you needed something - anything to be true, but how do fairy tales work if they didn’t exist before one came to you?

Our life is like a fantasy – the ghost of roll play from childhoods past, where our dreams put to motion the pages that will last. We want to become something that couldn’t exist before us. Every idea special because every journey is a must?

We wouldn’t of thought of it if wasn’t meant to be true. It wouldn’t have shaped us if it wasn’t perfectly meant to. What is life if nothing but a special collection of ideas becoming our sanity? Like gifts from our dreams that shape this walking fantasy?

Daniel Hinton's Future

Daniel is a new writer to the HubPages community, and is committed to sharing his writing with the world. He is currently looking for a publishing company to publish a children's book he has completed, and he hopes to write another collection of poetry aimed towards children in the future. Daniel believes children need to learn about the true darkness of the world so they can better protect themselves from it, and is very passionate about educating children with his writing.

Do you think Daniel Hinton has a bright future ahead of him?
