She prayed.
And the fire rages from within...
Born naked bloody and screaming
Her life spiraled downward from there
She lived on a diet of misery
She drank from a cup of despair
Her mother caved in to religion
Her father obsessed with cocaine
Her only connection to feeling
Was the depth of her God given pain
~She prayed~
"Our father who art in heaven"...
Her mother said Jesus and Satan
Were battling over her soul
Would the victory go to Jesus
Or would Satan emerge as of old
~She prayed~
"Thy kingdom come"...
Her soul bathed in self delusion
In a prison of self condemnation
She didn't believe for a moment
There was even a chance of salvation
~She prayed~
"Thy will be done"...
She was the prize in a war of old
In a battle that raged for her soul
Would she be saved by the Jesus gun
Or would Satan increase his fold
~She prayed~
"Now I lay me down to sleep
I prey the Lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
I prey..."
They found her slumped over her bible
They said she had gone insane
They didn't know Jesus had failed her
And Satan prevailed once again
Amen...
