These Thoughts, They're Rolling Around Inside My Mind and I Can't Make Them Stop!

Sometimes, I just go crazy and relinquish control of my mind to an alter ego. Deal with him, it's not my fault.

I feel just like you do, Brad!!

Stir crazy

Have you ever seen that film? Starring Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor? Man, there's two people about as different as can be but together they were magical. Both were loved by millions as they could make you laugh with the crazy things they came up with. This was one of their best, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with this hub, except...

I am going stir crazy right now!

My mind is running to places I didn't even know existed, finding things better left alone but I just cannot control it right now.

And so, I decided if I can't control it, maybe I should just let it run and let you readers deal with what it dredges up! I have no control, so it is all on you!

Today I took a ride into town...

To pick up a few things; then I took some things to our storage facility, just getting some clutter out of the house, y'know? I turned on the radio for the first time in quite a while, and the strangest thing happened: every song that came out of the speakers, my mind tried to write a song about the coronavirus situation! I know, crazy, right?

I understand what was going on here, it was because of my adding my version of My Sharona to my hub yesterday, entitled My Corona. I actually thought it was fairly original, until I got on Youtube and found...

Three other My Corona songs! One has over six million views in less than a month already! Damn, did I miss the boat on that one! I kept looking around, listening to several parody songs about the virus and several from before the virus from a family that just gave me a kick in the pants with their humor. I cried out to my wife (who was upstairs) I AM NOT ALONE!!!! She had no idea what I was talking about; I meant that other people thought up offbeat songs and parodies like I did, and they were pretty good. Some not so much, but all funny anyway.

So this got me going today, and I have not stopped making crap up yet. Here are a few of my newest hits!

First, My Corona

My Corona! (My Sharona)

Oh, I think I saw someone, saw someone

Coughing in their arm, do they got Corona?

Oh I think I better run, I better run

Get as far away as I can Corona!

People gonna cough, gonna cough, spread this virus all

Around, spread it far, spread it wide, sharing air around

Hey hey hey, we got it!

Ma ma ma My Corona!

Prez is on the tube again, he’s on the tube

Saying it’s just a matter of time Corona

Doc’s they gonna follow him , they follow him

Say we got another wave near Corona

People gonna cough, gonna cough, spread this virus all

Around, spread it far, spread it wide, sharing air around

Hey hey hey, we got it!

Ma ma ma My Corona!

Ma ma ma My Corona!

Here I am safe in my home, in my home

Lookin’ out the window hey where’s Corona?

I can’t see it anywhere, not anywhere

Is it just a game in my mind Corona?

People gonna cough, gonna cough, spread this virus all

Around, spread it far, spread it wide, sharing air around

Hey hey hey, we got it!

Ma ma ma My Corona!

Ma ma ma My Corona!

Ma ma ma My Corona!

Over 6 millions views?!?!

Next, "Coronavirus" sung to Carly Simon's "Anticipation"

Co-ron-a-vir-us! (Anticipation)

We, are safe inside our homes right now

Cause, there’s a virus runnin’ ‘round out there

We have learned how to Social Distance properly

And how to wash our hands and to stop touching our faces

Co-ron-a-vir-us! Co-ron-a-vi-aye-rus!

It’s locking’ us in! It’s driving us cra-a-a-a-a-zy!

There’s some doctors, they’re tellin’ us to stay apart

And some others who say it’s all just lie-aye-ayes

I’m not sure who I can believe anymore

And now the media makes it all seem so damn dark

Co-ron-a-vir-us! Co-ron-a-vi-aye-rus!

It’s locking’ us in! It’s driving us cra-a-a-a-a-zy!

Now, they say they might lift the lockdown pretty soon

And let us go outside again once more- ore-ore

If they do, I might peek outside my door again

But I’ll run back inside, ‘cause someone’s coughing there

Someone is coughing there!

Yeah I’ll run back inside cause someone coughin’ there!

These guys are GREAT!!! (Check out their Libido Killer parody of Michael Jackson's Thriller)

And now, my latest (finished ten minutes ago), "Fauci!" (to Blondie's "Call Me")

Fauci! (Call Me)

Coronavirus hit us baby

Hit us really hard

People coughin’ people dyin’

Some are stuck inside

Need someone to talk to now

Someone who can calm my fears

Fauci! He’s the one who can tell if we’re in danger!

Fauci! He stays cool and calm no matter what The Don has done!

Fauci!

He goes on the telly baby

Tells us what to do

Wash our hands and faces baby

Use our germex too

Even had Brad Pitt play him

On Saturday Night Live, a gem

Fauci! He’s the one who can tell if we’re in danger!

Fauci! He stays cool and calm no matter what The Don has done!

Fauci!

Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo He calms our fears each day oh yeah

Ooo-oo-oo-oo He tells us to “Trust him!” (Just trust him!)

Ooo-oo-oo-oo He’s calm and cool and suave oh yeah

Every day every night every place in the world

Every day every night every place in the world oh yeah!

Fauci! He’s the one who can tell if we’re in danger!

Fauci! He stays cool and calm no matter what the Don has done!

Fauci! He got Brad Pitt to play him on that Saturday!

Fauci! When you’re ready he will ease your mind!

Fauci!

Mmm, ooo-oo-oo-oo Fauci!

Brad Pitt as Dr. Fauci

I do have one more in the works...

But when I started to sing the chorus to my wife, she just looked at me and said, quietly but firmly, "No.". I guess because it is one of her favorite songs and she's afraid she wouldn't be able to un-hear it the next time the song came on the radio. Then, she would have to kill me.

Stay Back Six Feet! (Hold On Loosely by 38 Special)

Stay back six feet! Don’t come too close!

If you move too close now, I just might run!

Oh man I need room to stretch out,

And a whole lotta space to breathe in!

That's all I've got so far, just a working chorus.I quit because she was not happy with me on that one!

Gotta go now, I think the white jacket guys are at the door again!

See, there are others like me! I'm not alone!!

Sounds funny and a little crazy, as you say. Thanks for explaining.

Alan Parsons Project, (The System Of) Dr Tarr and Professor Fether. Poe wrote this "dark" comedy story about a man traveling in France to an insane asylum. He had heard of its wonderful work with those who were afflicted. When he got there, things were a little, uh, strange. Seems the inmates had taken over the asylum and "tarred and feathered" the staff! Even in the mid 1800's, someone understood the importance of going a little kookoo every now and again while throwing off the yoke of society! Parsons take on the story is unsettling and wild, but really good music.

      Viva le crazee!!

I could not find the video you mentioned by Parsons. I'm sure it is hilarious, though.

Cheyenne, a "Sense of Humor" is not what the White Jacket People called it! Something about a break in reality, paranoid delusions of granduer or to that effect anyway. Glad you enjoyed my breakdown! I was thinking about something, some take on Ozzy's "Crazy Train" but I think that says it all anyway. Take care Ma'am!

Marcy, Bless Your Heart! Did you make it through any of them? I tried, and did to some degree but some of the words are not exactly perfectly in time with the music (but when you've lost control of your mind, timing doesn't matter quite so much!

All aboard the Crazy Train!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

By the way, give a listen to Alan Parson's ode to crazy with his take on Edgar Allan Poe's "Dr Tarr and Professor Feather". Perfect for our times!!

Mike, this is hilarious! Your confinement has let your sense of humor run rampant. I love it!

Liz, I am not sure these qualify as "lyrics" but thank you all the same!

Sir William, I was shocked at how many videos and views that man has. I wish I could carry a tune so I could join him with my songs. Sadly, I couldn't carry a tune if it were rolled up and in my pocket. Ah well. Thanks, buddy.

Marie, that did indeed help. It was a very nice walk we went on. Thank you Ma'am!

You're right, Dan, you've got it bad. My personal response, if I were in your shoes, would be to take a long walk back in the family woods, which is about 12 acres. There's a cold creek running through the woods, discarded day lilies are beginning to show, the frogs are sounding their courting symphony, and the evergreens whisper sweet nothings as the gusty breezes pass through their branches. The little wintergreen and cedar leaves smell delightfully uplifting when you crush them between your fingers. I breath in the the fresh, cold air and sing!

      (I hope I helped a little.)

I've actually seen the video by Mann. He's making big bucks with his videos lately. Makes me wonder why I waste my time writing. lol
