May Angels Watch Over All Children of Abuse and Neglect
Angels Weep
I saw the world so magical,
Through the eyes of a child,
With his ability to give me,
So many tears and smiles.
His innocence was shattering,
As he shared his jokes and wit,
Sitting on the veranda,
I treasured every bit.
Astounded by his grace,
By the purity of his heart,
To think some-one had hurt this child,
It tore my soul in half.
He taught me on humility,
As I gazed into his eyes,
And through the wall of innocence,
I knew this child was wise.
Only barely six,
But a victim of abuse,
I saw how inflicted pain,
Had destroyed his precious youth.
He did not want to punish,
Like most of us would do,
Instead hiding all the guilt and shame ,
Inside his heart so true.
My heart was surely breaking,
As I watched this little boy,
As his broken fingers swept past me
To reach his precious toy.
I couldn't shake the visions,
Spiralling out of control,
That in twenty years onwards,
There would live a broken soul.
What sort of man would he become,
Would his memories stain his life,
Would he have the love a man should have,
To give all unto his wife.
The one thing I would tell him,
As a man with guilt and shame,
Is that he was just a little boy,
He never was to blame.
I began to shake with horror,
As frustration came my way,
As the little boy showed no bruises,
They all assumed he was okay.
Inspired by his wonder,
Caught amongst his charms,
I kissed his little face,
As I held him in my arms.
With my fists clenched hard together,
I stroked his matted hair,
I cursed the filthy animal,
That could hurt a child down there.
I felt completely helpless,
To know just what to do,
As tears splashed upon my face,
I just let my love spill through.

Child abuse.. unforgivable.
Child abuse.....crime
In one of my previous hubs I tell my own child abuse story of my step father in http://blondepoet.hubpages.com/hub/Through-The--Eyes-Of-A-Child.
Let me tell you there is hope, there is love, and forgiveness, for every pain, for every tear, for every heart. Whatever you do don't hide it away, the first step to healing is to share your own child abuse story. The more you talk through your pain the easier it becomes. Do whatever steps you need to take in order to take back the life you were destined to live..Whether it be professional help, support of friends and family, you need to do something..
Remember you never were to blame. If anyone should live with guilt and shame, it should be the child abuser.....not you.
'For each struggle, there comes strength'.
Do you know that in this world
There is no one quite like you?
You are more worthy than you will ever know
You need to see it too.
So strive and reach, battle forward
Lift up your heart with glee
Shout unto the world today
I am happy to be me
