Today’s Choices and Tomorrow’s Commitments- Journal Challenge, Day 13
Missed Opportunity
Today I missed the opportunity to catch up on my journal challenge because I chose to be in support of other people. Instead of honoring my commitment to be the priority and focus on the projects I needed to get done, I chose to write up the meeting notes and update the contact list for The Women’s Choir, and later listened to and encouraged a sister-friend that I hadn’t spoken with in a while. Then it was time for choir rehearsal, dinner and bed.
I was good with my choices because I am an excellent support person, great listener and gifted encourager, and I get tremendous joy out of doing what I do. I felt that they were the better choices in each moment because I’ve learned and believe that relationship and people’s needs divinely outweigh my personal agenda at times.
New Commitment
Tomorrow I commit to catching up and being current with my 30 day journal challenge and maintaining a better balance between what I do for others and what I need to do for myself. I commit to maximize my time and cut back on the procrastination, so that I will have sufficient time to get things done for myself and clients, and also assist with the needs or requests from family and friends.
Today I chose to miss an opportunity for myself in order to be a blessing to others. Tomorrow I commit to begin again with balance and discipline. I choose to honor myself and the work that God has called me to do; and I commit to helping others as Spirit leads while being my first priority.
