Troubles of My Life - Original Tragedy Poem

Updated on March 23, 2012

BACKGROUND:

I consider this poem to be one of my best so far. It is more of a philosophical poem with a tragic, troubled touch and a punch in the face of the bad society and the greedy culture in which we exist. I believe that many persons, you too, will be able to relate yourself with this piece of poetry. This is a story of every person, who may have felt the same things, at some stage of his/her life. After reading the whole text, you will be able to decode the message hidden in the last 3 paragraphs.

Enjoy the poem, and leave your feedback and comments about what you liked about it.

I find it hard to walk and flee

It’s a crumbled barren land,

Sprayed like a carpet

Underneath my feet.

I find it hard to cross

The chutes are too narrow to

Paddle up the river and

Swim across

The precipice is too steep

To just gallop onto it

The far away land is too serene

To close my eyes for it,

In quest for a better land,

I spent a year searching;

When finished digging a vacant grave,

Didn’t find it fascinating.

Never got satisfied with the trades and norms

Always found myself fighting against the dust-storm

Who does this arid and fruitless earth favor?

Is it only me who does not belong here?

Will I also have to reform into a creepy worm?

To be this dead society’s heir?

One of the good philosophical poems. You are absolutely right. We passes our whole life in dissatisfaction. What do we want, we ourselves do not know. Great Hub. I voted it up and awesome.

Excellent piece of poetry!.... a stream of emotions that real big hearts are impound with, your poem flows straight from there to reach to where it can revolt & prove the power of sensitiivity!

      God Bless you Hunbbel Meer!
