Twister: A Poem

HL Keeley has received a Bachelors Degree in Middle Grades Education. She has just completed her first year teaching.

I am living in a tornado.

Constant thoughts are circling me

Choking me.

Irrational fears

Choking Me.

Even lying in bed the tornado stays.

I just want to go to a bunker and hide from the tornado.

I cannot escape it.

I cannot run from it.

The times I feel that I have finally escaped

The tornado pulls me back in screaming.

I am sorry for how I am.

I am in a constant state of fear,

Fear of sucking you too into my tornado

How can you escape a tornado?

Stay away from it.

There are people out there who can relate to these words. It is sad but true. You really captured the soul cry on this emotional twister.

I agree with Jodah. You can feel the meaning of this poem well. I think maybe, that all of us has experienced similar feelings in life at some point.
