Two Hearts
Two Hearts
We met on a summers day
In the corner of a shop
A smile stretched across your face
My heart raced, right before it stopped
You touched my hand with one finger
It could have been just a mistake
Electricity surged right through me
I knew it then, I was now awake
For years I had been sleeping
Sleep walking through my life
I saw in you what I could be
If only you did not have a wife
You told me how she tore your heart
I listened and watched with tears
As something so familiar rang true
My own story dancing round my ears
Two broken hearts sat side by side
That summer day in a corner shop
Once asleep and now awake
Two hearts racing, before they stopped.
