Wish I Could Reach Out

Updated on October 10, 2012

Reaching out to others can be the best experience you can have in your life. Not Thinking for a second to put anybody down, but the world is stuck in a selfish life of its own. So much waste thrown on the basket bin and so much people in need of just a piece of bread. Sad that we might be living inside a bubble and not being concerned for a neighbor that could save your life when you less expect it. This piece of creativity is just that: Words that came from within and are there to be shared with our friends. Just thinking about how much we could give to people in distress, makes us shiver. For some reason we became kind givers and we want to share this inspiration, and maybe you can join us in this Journey...that could end when you less expect it.

Simples thoughts that came along

wishing to change the world

embracing it with love

the one that we received with amour

Wanting to reach out with a song

Waiting for that bitter sweet tune

words seem diminishing that pain

that we felt first hand in tropes

seeing people in despair

willing to share a life

that I want somehow explain

Coming from nowhere

connecting ourselves everywhere

having reached out to some

feeling the hand of God

when giving to a needing hand

heartbroken when not being able to reach

as many friends as we can

knowing those that spent another day

under that bridge of the damned.

more than enough with no job

coming back home saying sorry

to a loving wife with enough love

women with so much sorrow

Smiling to dreams that have been borrowed

kids turning into men

seeing parents like loyal friends

girls storming ways to help out

easily joining the wrong crowd

People having more than enough

leaving real joy for last

others not having as much

but enjoying their kids' laugh

being just a second of time in a lifetime

thinking we can live forever

forgetting to help a simple mortal

that has been shriveling near that Everest

40 billion on the bank

not giving away a damn penny

however leaving life in a blink of an eye

40 millions with no jobs

just tell me who is wrong

worrying about putting others down

watching your own kids taking someone's life before dawn

lying to others just to get ahead

crying on a parking lot near that hotel

where a daughter just met death

Karma at breakfast

results at noon

do your very best

before that movie of your life ends soon

call it bad luck

depending on how far you reach out

to this fellow from up above

search for that good deed

and your heart will be pleased

seems that we wanted to move our friends

who can follow us to the end

wanting to share a miracle

as we dot down the word with a pen

there is more to say but hey!

call it a miracle, how we ended up here

never intending to follow a plan

finding ourselves giving a hand...

Lovely, poetic diatribe. Makes quite the personal political statement. Off to partake in some more. Red.

hELLO Raciniwa, you made me laugh with the moonwalk story...but back to the main reason of this story. There are so many ways to help humanity. It can start with a smile and a thank you. A human contact and let someone know that at least you care , can actually make a difference and that has no price whatsoever, certainly it doesn't cost nothing to you but can make a difference for your fellow man/woman. So many lives were taken for the lack of moral support, and If we can create micro-pantries in your block, just to give you an idea..., you can feed people that 2 miles away, depleted al sources and hit rock bottom... are to the lowest in all senses. And I'm not alone, there are so many friends that are with me and my ideas. What's better? To throw away a pantry full of cans one morning or give it to a person who is in distress...I mean come on! Just by doing that, your spiritual level will raise up, and your health will improve..due to that good feeling. Our Creator instilled that 'bonus' in our system... I can go on and on but I leave the door open for comments. Thanks RACINIWA!

yeah, i do agree with you...the greatest crime a person could commit against his fellowman is indifference...

Great hub, great poetry, great thoughts to ponder on. Reaching out is one great act of living out our faith. As Christ reaches out to the poor, downhearted, blind, sick people, we have to out reach out for those who need our comfort. This is one great act we can do in the name of Christ. Remain blessed always. Best regards.

Isnt it a glorious idea that we could erase or ease a person's pain just with a smile, a word, or a nod of the head.

This poem is so moving and is a sign of our times, unfortunately. We don't reach out as we should. May I link this lovely poem to my Hub: "Tomorrow Is Another Day, I'll Do It Then". I would be honored.

There are so many people that turns a blind eye to what is going on around them, they had rather not see a child going hungry or the neighbor next door struggling to make ends meet because he lost his job or the homeless people living under the bridges or in the woods. You have hit the nail on the head with your poem! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good writing. Awesome & Up...

Thanks Franky! The time has come to look around and see what we missed. Just look for that old man that is ready to pull over his old car, just bought groceries. He knows his speed limit annoys anyone, but

he knows he still had to go the extra mile literally. But check his bag: cigarretes, can food and the news. Now keep looking around, foreclosed homes and cars running out of gas...What's going on?
