Brick Wall (Limerick)

Updated on July 31, 2012
Source

Pick up my phone and call my best friend Ben

Hey bud guess what, something crazy happened

Contest I entered did win

Are you even listening

Then I realized phone call had ended

Source

Has This Ever Happened To You?

Have you ever had one of these moments? This happens to me all the time! It is so annoying! I will be talking to someone and then BAM! I turn around from what I was doing to actually make eye contact with them....and they are nowhere to be found. Some questions race through my mind.

How long have I been talking to myself?

Did he/she hear anything I said?

Or, I will be on the phone with a friend, and halfway through I will realize they are not even on the other end. How long had the phone call been ended? Usually this happens, because they lose cell service. At least this is what I hope! Maybe I do not have any friends? What ever will I do?! I am just "joshing" you!

This has happened to all of us at some point in our lives, and we just have to learn to live with it. But, it sure makes me think that I have wasted my breath!

Source

Stupid Wall!

The wall doesn't listen very well! He(or do we call the wall a she?) is not very talkative. In fact, now that I think about it, I have never heard the wall respond once. You would think the wall would have some decency? Nope! Walls these days are very rude! All they care about are themselves!

Let's start a petition, or perhaps even an organized riot! (Is that even possible, an organized riot?) Well, we could sure use one. Our voice needs to be heard! We have to come up with a clever plan to end this nonsense!

(A light bulb just went off in my head!)

Wait, I think I may have just solved our problems! Perhaps sunshine625 could write a letter to this infamous wall!

Have A Great Day, And Avoid Those Walls!

Be careful as you go on with your days! These "brick wall" moments come out of nowhere. Wasting your breath is no fun! I hope you have a great day, and that you have enjoyed this silly Limerick. If you have any funny experiences related to this theme, please share them below in the comments!

How fun! You 've inspired me to attempt my frist limerick:

      Committed myself the phone sin.

Babbling some time since it’d been…

      Wond’ring with chagrin

Just how rude I had been.

Since last I had heard from my friend!

Nice work, those dumb, blind and deaf brick walls always manages to get in my way, usually at the end of a long tiring day, I'll turn around and' bang' :)

Hey Josh...every hear "Silence is golden?" Just sayin'

A very funny haiku on talking to yourself. And I love the organized riot - it's that what Occupy [insert movement of the day] was all about? :) If you were to have a sit in against walls, would you lean against them? :)

The brick wall in my house is called Kevin, Emma and Lily---they take turns, lol!!! Seriously, being a wife and a mother I get ignored by someone at least once a day. But I know it is not meant 9 times out of ten. Loved your limerick though that poked fun at this one. Voted and shared!!

Wow! that wall is truly not being fair to you Josh, its freaking stingy too, LOL.

Well I never really talked to a wall, nor do I want to, but I have talked to the hand before, and my mothers back hand use to kick some ass, but actually my face isn't my rear end, but you get the point. Hah!

Great limerick bro, I have starred into the wall on punishments, and had to breathe into it to make the time pass though, my uncle use to suck when he punished me for silly stuff I had no clue I was doing as an unconscious litter critter, actually I think I was a rug rat back then around 1980 something Hehe!!!!

Voted up as super funny and outrageously awesome!

Without a doubt those moments have happened to everyone...for me it usually happens walking along talking to someone and for whatever reason they stopped thirty feet back to look at something (Bev does this a lot) leaving me looking like an idiot talking to myself out in public.

      Fun hub nephew!

Too, true, Josh! So many times, when on the phone with my son, verbalizing some very profoundly worded admonishments, I realize no one's on the other end. I think most of the time he just hangs up on me and blames it on the connection!

Try to get away with that before cell phones! Not!!

      Great Limerick!

There are times my wife builds walls around her ears. I think it's called selective listening. She accuses me of the same, but I've never built anything in my life that hasn't fallen down!

Seems you hit a nerve with this one....at some point in life we have all been in that position....talking away only to find out there's no one there....on the phone, in the store, in a room in the house, lots of places lots of time. The thing is we always feel like idiots and its not even out fault after all, they're the ones that disappeared! Definitely calls for an organized riot to set things right!
