What is your Bucket List?

Updated on January 26, 2012

Life in a snapshot and after that..

When we were born, there was joy and happiness but then as everything good has to come to an end, we will bid Adios to our friends, family and end our journey of LIFE. We will go away, and our body will no longer be in existence however, our soul is irreplaceable and it will be lingering around our loved ones; looking over them and rejoicing with them in their happiness and sharing their sorrow and grief while enveloping them with a huge hug. But, while we are on the look out for our family and friends from above, will we be happy souls? will we be content? That depends on how we lived our LIVES. Besides, living for others, did we do stuff that made us happy? did we do things that we liked? did we do things that satisfied us? IF not, it is never too late to turn ourselves around to make a bucket list of our own and live for the series of things that we want to do before we say good bye.

We call our list to be a bucket list since, we have quite a few ambitions and desires in this lifetime.

My Bucket list comprises of happiness and ONLY happiness.

This happiness can be a state of mind which can help me stay happy and content even if I am in pain. This is the happiness I want. I want to stay happy in whatever condition my fate puts me in.I do sound very philosophical right now, but I have realized that with that state of mind; I will be in bliss since will be content even if I fall and hurt myself while doing the below things which I aim on doing in this lifetime; such as---

  • skydiving
  • going fishing
  • getting my book published
  • being able to make good friends in this life time
  • being able to succeed in my ambitions
  • see the success that I dream about; for myself and my family and friends
  • to be able to bear the thought of being sick and unhealthy and dependent on others
  • to be able to bear the loss of a dear one

Life is a word with such a deep meaning since it is a mixed bag of sorrows, grief, challenges, love, emotions, happiness, tragedy and tears. Everyday, we shake our heads with either of the above one adjective and admire Life with whatever it has to offer. We fall down when we face either of the above and get up with so much heart ache and therapies and medications.

I am already working on my Bucket List. It is never too late to make yours and to live each day well..

Good luck!!

      Hello Mary615,

      Pleasure seeing you here.

You are right as we age; our needs change so thus our bucket list. I am glad that you could attain the things that you desired. God Bless!

My bucket list used to be very long, but I find as I grow older, the list is shorter. Now, my wants are fewer. I think that's because I have attained most of the things I wanted in life, fortunately! Good Hub: food for thought.

Beautiful hub. One of the things on my bucket list is traveling around the world. To make that happen, I guess I'd better go write more hubs and make more money now. :)

Thank you for this wonderfully made missive. My number one goal, besides serving God and people, is to get a book or two or three published. I'm working on it. Beyond that, there are many places on earth I would like to see while I am still here.

Such beautiful thoughts Wayne and yes, age does mature us and makes us wiser to re-define our goals in life. Wishing you joy and happiness along with your fulfillment of the bucket list. Thanks for stopping by to read this hub...appreciate it!

My bucket list changes as I age and it get far more simple with time. No longer do I aspire to be a greater writer but I do wish that my writing would have an impact. No longer do I wish to be a great singer and guitarist but I hope that when I perform, people listen. Fame has no real value other than monetary rewards. Money will not buy happiness. Thus, as I grow older I look a the ways that I can take the talents that I have and impact mankind...entertain, make people think, bring joy and celebration to their lives. If I can accomplish that much, my bucket list will be very fulfilled. WB

Wonderful idea and something that all of us should give some thought to as life is brief and we'll never tread this way again, so why not write down all those dreams and aspirations and go out and just do them! Inspiring hub and cheers for sharing!

God bless and peace to you!

So True Saket71...We take each day for granted. Should ask a person who has numbered days left due to the diagnosis of some they count each day and try to make it as valuable as possible.

thank you for taking the time to read and comment...means a lot!

Good stuff, Ruchira. The only thing is that time is all the time running out and the end comes too soon. We need to be prepared everyday to live and to die.
