Who can tell what's in the heart?
The Heart of Nature
It's not what's in your wallet that counts, but what's in your heart! But who knows that?
Who can tell what’s in your heart?
Who can know what you feel, the way you feel it?
Who holds the image of what you see, the way you see it?
There are those I’m sure,
But not many can know what we know,
The way we know it.
As I read the stories here I see them through my eyes
But my eyes aren’t your eyes
My mind isn’t your mind
So how can I know what you know
And feel what you feel?
These are the questions my ego asks
These are the questions of humanity
But they are not the answers of the soul
I meditate, I listen and I ask the source of all being
Make me privy to a glimpse of their world
Let me hear what they hear, see what they see, feel what they feel
And when my heart has opened
When my mind is bypassed
This stream of warmth flows in
Like a tail on a comet
Bringing with it the light of the universe,
The experiences of far off places
All meant to let me know we are one
That is when I know what you know
See what you see
And feel what you feel
It is brief and intense and beautiful
It is you, within, when you write
What is in your heart
That’s how we can tell!
