Wintry thoughts not so far away
The poem is my response to Jackie's challenge.
- Jackie Lynnley HubPage Challenge "Winter Memories"
This is a challenge to other hubbers to share their winter and/or Christmas memories with other hubbers. We have weeks yet of winter so if you are busy now just come back later! We will be waiting.
Wintry thoughts not so far away
Night we had to park the car
‘cause it would just not go
over Jacob’s slick, slick gap
where it was just you and me
walking under a winter sky
so in love and not caring
we were walking
up a snowy
steep road
Night you wore the wool poncho
and I, the silk robe
snow piled so high
door would not open
where it was just you and me
so in love and not caring
enough wood stacked
to keep the stove burning
Night you called out to me
With your poetry
I slipped away
so I could sleep in our bed
so in love and not caring
feeling you inside of me
such a beautiful night of poetry
"So Far Away" by Dire Straits and performed by Joseph Houck, Jeff and Anna Martin
