Women Ancestors: Then and Now, We Honor You

Updated on February 7, 2015

Spanning a lifetime of countless years … Growing in the Power of the Resurrected Christ.

The part you played along the journey then
Was significant and still influences us now.

We honor you.

Women available and willing …
Sowing seeds of self-sacrifice.
Sisters, Mothers, Aunties, Nanas – our Godsend then;

Wise Women, Role Models, Sheroes – our legacy, now.

You were a key factor in "how we got over."

We honor you.

We always knew the time would come, It's the cycle of this earthly life.
But it came too soon, so much more to be done, then.

Life without you not the same…
challenged by emptiness and pain, even now.

Yet, we go on with each other
Through Christ who gives us strength.
Until we meet again …

We honor you.

(Hebrews 12:1) "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."

Be blessed,

Never heard of or seen a Hub before. Keep educating me Jo Anne on what the options are for those wanting to get trans-formative messages out. Thanks.

Thank you Treasuresofheaven! You are quite welcome. It makes me think of my grandmother and was written for a women's celebration at my former church, where I shared this poem and danced to the song with others sisters in my group. It was a beautiful service honoring the special women in our lives that blessed us then and now. I am more appreciative and mindful of those who remain and love on them while I still have the chance.

      Be blessed.

This made me think of my mother who's in heaven. She passed away 2 years ago. Irreplaceable, Vera Beard. Beautiful song. There are other women in my life that have gone on to heaven as well. Age has nothing to do with the need for a mother or mother-like mentor. I still honor those women in my life who still remain.

Thanks for the reminder and wake-up call to remember these beautiful women, mothers and role models. Good Job! Beautiful!!
