Inked Words for Blood
Inked letters that create our words,
All flying forth, as untethered birds,
Revealing thoughts upon the page,
Rounding up each, as poetic herds.
How to make and not to preempt,
To express, that we must confess,
No simple word, eloquent attempt
shall make us all free, to be exempt.
Blood that's shed, for liberty's sake,
not excused for pity, or that to make,
Not a single line, nor inscribed phrase,
Does indicate all well-deserved praise.
The Holy Father, that died for us each,
There's no finer lesson than it to teach.
His life for us all, and forever it shall be,
Every life's spirit in heaven we shall see.
If ink to replace blood, a marvel to behold,
My attempt to reveal, in my words so bold.
As deep inside, within hearts we do console,
The love, its value, in such depths, untold.
