Writing for an Audience or Writing for Yourself

I learned about making sheep's wool during my stay in South Africa. An interesting process to oversee.

Writing for Yourself and Living by Lies

I write for me and for an audience.

Writing is not for everyone, especially when you make money the priority.

I did not make money a priority and have grown to prove my point in what I do best.

Writing comes easily to me.

I learned about a topic and wrote about it.

You can go to great lengths in researching a specific topic and come up with a big zero.

It has happened to me.

I had my mind wrapped around a topic and lost interest in that topic after fifteen minutes. What I had written just flashed by me.

I learned from those moments of writing.

When you put your mind to writing be relaxed, happy and have an improved knowledge of that subject.

Writing down valuable points can make a difference to your work.

You learn from what wrong or right you have accomplished.

  • Do you think rules don't apply to you as a writer?

Most writers get the idea in their heads that rules don't apply to their efforts.

Publish as is!

Can you publish your work without further improvement?

Telling lies to you about writing is the wrong attitude.

Do you think that writing without editing, will gain you success in the writing field?

Rejection tends to make you feel disappointed and left out.

Why?

Rejection is telling you to continue and not give up.

Show determination and motivation with negativity.

However, most writers don't want to go on writing daily. Sometimes writers tend to feel down when dealing with rejection, and in negative conversations.

A writer requires a positive mind to go on writing.

There again, writers make up all these excuses in their minds to stop and feel down.

Telling lies like, ''I am not capable of writing,'' or ''I can't write'' is not going to make you feel better.

  • You don't have to stop there!

I did not stop when I felt down about my work.

Rejection shows you need to work further on your project.

Being a writer does not mean writing is your only part in that field.

  • What about marketing?

You got to write the best query letter and proposal to make space for your published work.

A published author requires a lot of hard work.

It is not just about jotting down what they know there is more than that.

Marketing is hugely important when writing and sharing ideas with an audience or with publishers.

Spending too much time on the least important work as where will you be published, is the least of your concerns.

Focus on writing at your best.

Learn how to get your work written and published in the most professional way.

Writing is more than just about getting published.

There is the marketing like, talking to people constantly on the social sites about your goals.

You need to have a free flow of conversation when marketing your work.

  • Build your foundation as a writer!

Work your hardest, and keep on writing. Improve your skills and be alive from the inside when writing.

Every aspiring writer wants their dream to be fulfilled.

Sometimes what a writer produces is not good enough for publishers.

Working with a few writers is better than having to put up with many writers and not getting the best of works.

  • Don't be a hack writer!

To become a great writer you should focus on writing and reading daily.

Understand the meaning of writing.

  • What makes you the better writer?

I am not the best of writers but I try to make my point heard.

It has been a challenging effort for me to live in a foreign country from South Africa to Croatia. My main focus over the years had meant that I speak in both the Croatian language and in the English language.

  • Suggestions to be the Good writer!

Improve grammar.

Understand cliches.

Know the process of writing.

Writers write seriously.

Figure out your steps in writing.

Reach your audience.

Check for spelling errors.

Don't make money a priority in writing. Make writing the main focus to gain that steady platform.

Don't be arrogant about writing.

The sky is the limit.

Write to get the attention of an audience.

Be familiar on the chosen topic.

Never ignore proofreading your work.

Write on a topic that you know well.

Don't take a chance on writing on a topic you don't about or not familiar with.

Knowledge is power!

Focus on a single point of view.

Advice is mostly for beginners!

I learned the hard way and I am still learning more about writing each day.

Writers should feel free to take a chance on writing.

Embrace your work.

  • How you can become a writer?

Writers want to share their work with others online or off line.

Understand what you want from writing itself.

Have an open mind on life.

Without knowing about the world around everything else can be lost.

Whether you are writing about fiction or adventure play the game of writing with a focused mind.

Writers can go on and on sharing their interests and allow writing to take their minds to another world or level.

Know what makes you a writer.

Don't assume you know when you don't know of a topic.

You may think your opinion means everything.

Remember, every individual is entitled to an opinion of a certain topic or anything else.

Think about your words

The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe.

Gustave Flaubert

Writing online

Write from the Heart!

Avoid arrogance!

Every writer has a unique writing style, so judging others of how they write or speak is not a way to improve your writing skills.

A beginner or a professional writer in whichever way you see it, it all comes down to how one puts their words together and understands their line of work.

The effort you put into writing can be none or all.

You can create many words but if you lack ability your words won't be so meaningful.

Worthy advice from other writers can be useful to you.

Working together as writers is not always an option. It does not work put for every writer.

You also get jealous writers.

Writers who are afraid of having their work read by the public don't reach their goals. It is sad when a good writer fails to move forward.

Sometimes writers lose themselves in their writing and forget how to express simple words.

A writer has a chance to send a message across to an audience and to write from within.

Be honest in what you write about.

  • What do you think about while writing a story or an article?

You can put the pieces together if you put your mind into working your hardest.

  • Do you prefer to write for yourself or for an audience?

Discover a new world out there and feel free to express your thoughts.

Public writing allows you to think bigger and do bigger.

Don't lose yourself in the process!

You can write many events in a diary at some point that diary will be read by someone else.

Most writers don't want to share their personal experiences while others prefer to share their personal experiences.

You use writing as a model for yourself.

Writing is not every person’s cuppa tea!

I write to improve my lifestyle.

I prefer to write for an audience.

I want to be heard loudly and clearly.

Writing is an earning option if you make the time and put in all the effort surely you will see best results.

I learned the hard way, and don't regret one single moment for trying my hardest to see my best results in writing.

Time will tell of your hard work.

Only you will know at best if you are true to yourself, in writing and in life.

You can't lie to yourself forever!

Life is what you make of it in every way. Be positive and be your true self.

You still got to be true avoid lying to yourself in the writing field.

Competition is a huge phase in writing!

Write with a full mind!

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.

Benjamin Franklin

Write and be Heard

I write for an Audience

I write to learn more from my work and from the opinions of other writers.

Hi DDE, I agree with your views, and feel sorry for people who feel forced to write about things of no interest to them simply for profit. Writing is sacred to me as I believe it is with you; Its joys and freedoms are boundless.

So many good points here. Interesting topic. I have my writing schedule now so that three days a week I wrote a hub for others, and two days a week I write for me. My novel writing is for me. If others enjoy my novels then fantastic.

Good advice here. It's true you have to write for yourself but with others' interests in mind. Another good point is having to be knowledgeable about your subject.

      Have sent you an email!

Good encouragement for writers. I love Flaubert's quote because I think sometimes we sit down to write and think we have the answers only to discover we're discovering them.

Great advice! I try and write about subjects I have a first hand knowledge about. I know I'll never write a novel, although I used to dream of doing just that.

I think combining writing that is purely for yourself along with your commercial writing is necessary, and will probably improve your skills to a greater degree too...some great points here DDE..thank you:-))

Very interesting article, as I was reading, I felt as though I was writing it myself as so much of what you wrote applied to me.

In the beginning when I started writing for my blog I found it so hard, so I made my weekly writing (at that stage) a must do every Sunday morning as it was the quietest time in my week, after about three weeks I had no trouble and the words started flowing and I started enjoying it.

Now some ten years later, I wouldn't be able to not write as it is the most relaxing thing I do in my life and so enjoyable.

I have come to love reading and writing here on HubPages, such friendly writers and helpful people, but it wasn't easy when I first transferred from Squidoo, but I didn't give up, looking forward to 2015 as a hub writer.

I write advice articles as well as other topics, so I am not sure what you meant when you wrote "Advice is mostly for beginners!" What followed didn't seem to clarify that statement as to what you meant. Can you be more specific?
