Alone in My Solitude (a poem)

Updated on April 3, 2011

Overnight the rain

came hard upon the street,

washing away all traces

of me and you.

Alone I walk

aimlessly searching for my comrades.

Everyone is gone

swept away by destiny.

No one to share

the struggles of now,

emotional voids fill the space.

Trust is lost

abandoned in a dream,

taken away by fate.

On my own

I forge ahead.

Very melancholy and woeful poem which describes where most of us have been and will probably visit, again. Beautifully written.
