You don't need to hear my voice at the beginning and at the end of your day,

Whispering the words I love you Mrs. Darné,

Or receive a card, a naughty voice mail, or poem to express

my love for you in some creative way...

You don't need me to tell you that you are beautiful

Or statements like "I don't want to live without you"

You have no need to be reminded my heart is in your hands

That I cherish you, I adore you, and I love being your man

You don't need me to take you to fancy places to eat

Or on a tropical vacation as some special treat

You don't need to be kissed by my lips or held in my arms each night

Nor do you need to feel me inside you to experience intimate delight

You don't need to hear me make you promises of a lifetime

And so I will say what I need to say without taking up much more of your time.

I fell in love with you the moment we shared our first kiss

When I don't hear from you my day is amiss

Your eyes, your dimples, your scent and your laugh linger in my mind

All serve to help me get through my daily grind

I've never loved anyone or anything as much as I love you

So forgive me if I continue to give you all the things you don't need

This love, lust, and passion which has been locked up in me for years is glad to be free

And although you recently told me that "we don't love the same way"

I still recall that early on we did, and I believe we still do

It's just that sometimes "we are not in the same place on the same day"

There is real magic between us when we do connect

The best is yet to come; I'm willing to bet

You may not need anything from me

But my hope is you will always want me

For love is best when it is given freely

To those we desire and not to those who are needy

I love you Tricia very much today

And I will love you even more tomorrow

No matter when or how our journey ends it will be met by immeasurable sorrow

I was blessed beyond my wildest dreams the day we met

And not once have I had a moment of regret

Be it laughter or tears that await us over the years

Victory celebrations or confiding our fears

Stormy weather or sunshine

In good or bad times

One thing is and always will be true
