What do you think of my pen name?

The name I use on this site is a pen name. Can you tell me what impressions my name gives, and whether you think it is good or not for a writer? Would you use a different name for novels, ebooks, and different sites? It is a hispanic name but I don't plan on focusing on hispanic type genre's (although I would probably write a bit about them) if this information helps anyone.

I think that you have chosen a good name. HubPages is the only place where I write under The Writer's Dog.

My blog and website are both written under my own name, as are the pieces that I have had published. Mainly I write here for fun and (eventually) a little extra of the folding stuff. My site and offline work is my serious work, hence writing there as myself.

Your name is fine.  You can always write under a different name for different books you write.  Hoping you Great Success.

I actually thought it was an Italian name, not a Hispanic name. It's quite cool though.

I think it is a good strong choice.  Personally, I like Hispanic names - the language is beautiful.

I like it.  It sounds European and interesting.

But--from working in a bookstore with tons of books and music CD's, it does matter where your name falls alphabetically. You might want to consider moving the last name up the alphabet. Often shoppers that are not sure what they want to read, will stay at the shelves in the first part of the alphabet--before they can even get to "Z" the kids are hollering, the spouse is restless and off they go with something by an author whose last name is Arnold, or Boswell, or Carson...etc.

I think it's a great name but if you will, please follow the advice of duffsmom because I think she is right.  The letter Z in your family name makes your name last in a list.

First name is hispanic-ish but last name is not. Also when publishing a book, a last name with a Z is a lot harder to get notice when someone is browsing at a bookstore (just as duffsmom pointed out). There are websites that can help you find a pen name that may suit your needs. In the end, it all comes down to one thing, do you like the name?

To me, this sounds like an established name. Don't you sometimes feel that when authors choose a pen name, it doesn't sound authentic? Case in point Nora Roberts. Whenever I see a book  of hers under her pen name, J.D. Robb, I don't feel like that's an author, I feel like its a person just trying to make more money. Perhaps that is cynical, this is a capitalist country after all. It may also be due to the fact that I know it is a pen name. Either way, I love the last name. Very cool.
However, I do agree with duffsmom- as a frequent reader, I don't spend a lot of time near the end of the alphabet unless I am specifically looking for Whitman or Wharton. Why not just drop the Z? Eldana has the same ring to it, but comes much earlier in the alphabet. Just thoughts. Good luck!

It sounds quite interesting and mystical. It reminds me of the Legend of Zelda, funny right? I do like it though, and the impression I get is that it sounds smart, well read, and I bet you will get a lot of followers,, if your articles are good!
