   When I am in the mood to read something of substantial length, I still prefer to curl up with a traditional book rather than an ebook. Besides the comfort level involved -- and not that I couldn't curl up with an ebook -- I am a tactile person and enjoy the feel of a book in my hands.

   As a book lover and avid collector I have always chosen real books but lately the electronic versions are getting harder to ignore. The ease and choice that you have today with e-books  is making owning real books less attractive to a whole new generation. I have to admit that I am also getting curious. Lord knows I have long ago run out of storage room for my thousands of books and to think I could store them electronically in a hand held device is getting harder to dismiss.

   Honestly, while I hate to see books fall by the wayside, I prefer a reader because holding books hurts my hands and an ereader is easier and lighter to hold.

   Laptops have been called notebooks - I think that says it all - I rarely read anything right through anyway so the internet suits me - If I want fiction I watch a film - the only exception is reading to kids - I get asked to read books to kids!

   Speaking for the cat population in general, I have to say that when reading ebooks there is a certain ease of operation that comes for those of us who don't have thumbs.

   No question for me.  I've never even seen a real live ereader!

      Nope.  But one day I will, because that's another thing about ereaders - they can die!  Books, not so much.  Unless you set them alight, or put them in the compost bin, or leave them out in the rain.  Real books can't have battery problems.

   I still enhoy the smell and feel of books.  Although ebooks and e-readers are more conveient in storing more books.

      Perhaps Febreze can come up with an "Old Books" scent!
      Actually my human prefers books, but she has a lot of pain in her hands and holding an ebook is much more comfortable.

    Call me old-fashioned but I prefer an actual book. I enjoy turning pages and the feel of the book itself. Also, it can never be dropped and broken or fail to connect.
