Fall is Here
The Colors of Fall
Fall is Here
Red, yellow and golden leaves drift to the ground like giant, colorful snowflakes. I watch breathlessly, and I am in awe of their beauty as seemingly hundreds illuminate the sky. I glance up from under the tall maple tree, and they seem to dance in rhythm to the crackling sounds they make as they fall all around my feet. I join in their ballet and become a little child again. Fall is here, and with her comes a wonderful moment in time when everything begins to settle down peacefully, and fall asleep. The trees give-up their leaves, the gardens and flowers sink into a bed of withered vines and leaves. The seeds, which the dried flowers have so generously left behind, cradle the ground and sink in deep, for a long, restful nap. Even the creepy-crawly things, which plagued us all summer have also found a place to slumber for the cool nights ahead as fall slips in, and whisks away what little daylight we have left. Fall is night-time for us. It’s time to fall asleep for the winter, and rest serenely and undisturbed ’til spring.
