How do you Publish on this? I had a 18 word that they said was to small a hub, and denied it
It needs to be longer. The place to write with 18 words is a place like Twitter.
"Hubs" are more than just small bits and bites of random thought or activity. The hubs are article length. Several hundred words are good.
Somewhere in my search for hub length I saw 1500 words was a good target. Considering a typed page, double spaced, has about 300 words- you can see how much that is. I have also read that if your Hubs are really long (something I didn't realize until recently) that you should break them up into separate hubs (ie: part 1, part 2, etc). So, there is a little conflict of advice-- but probably a page or two would be a good hub.
I hope that helps a little! Good luck with your writing.

I was hub hopping and had to flag a few hubs for being substandard (word count). One hub had exactly 10 words and 2 photos. There should be a way the system prevents you from publishing a hub like that except if it's in the poetry section.

I've seen people saying that they are writing longer hubs and getting more traffic. I've always heard at least 300 words up to 800 or so. Have you found an optimal number to shoot for?

In their teachings on writing stellar hubs, the HubPages staff has sometimes said that an ideal hub is 1,500 words long and has sometimes said that an ideal hub is 1,150 words long. Numerous hubs by hubbers on hubbing have recommended that a hub should be at least circa 400 to 500 words long, at...

I'm seeing a lot of hubs with the F and the S word in them, its making me scratch my head. Are they ok to use sparingly? What about words like hooker, prostitute, damn, hell, crap? Because I know how much Google Adsense is against "vulgar/offensive" content or so I hear, so can anyone...

I read the above quote on another thread and was wondering if anyone here can confirm that this is the case. Do you have long hubs, over 800 words? Are they doing well as far as Google traffic goes?Should I try to keep my hubs under 800 words?
