Thanks Ivorwen. Then to broaden the question slightly, how about in dialogue between one man...
who meets a champion boxer friend on the street and says, "Hey, Champ, how are you? Should Champ always be capitalized?
And how about when a guy calls his fiance honey in dialogue? Should he always capitalize Honey?
And when a kid calls his dad Pop to his dad's face, should it too always be capitalized?
And lastly, in the case of a mother calling her son Pumpkin in dialogue, should Pumpkin always be capitalized? Thanks in advance.
I just saw this question, and the answer to all of them is yes, because the title is used in place of a formal name.
