Is 3000 +/- words too long for a single short fiction story here?
Can anyone tell me if a three thousand word short story should be published in full or broken into parts here on HP?
Three-thousand words is approximately ten print pages, which I don't consider too long for a short story, regardless of where I read it. Others may disagree; web fiction does tend to be shorter.
I think it would be fine to publish a 3000 word short story here as one complete hub if your goal is to get the story into the hands of readers and make it easy for them to read in one sitting. But, of course, from both a revenue and exposure point of view, the more hubs you have the better.
Thank you very much for the input! As I think it would be better for a single sitting I believe I'll not worry about the revenue on this one and just get it out there. My concern was that being so long for a web piece that maybe people would bail without reading all of it. Trial and error I guess, I will put it out there tonight in full. Thank you both for your input!
