I LOVE this book. I read it about 10 years ago & now I think I need to get my copy out & read it again. The storytelling is vibrant and the food/recipe theme
    is unique.
The characters are so interwoven and passionate; it's a love story. A love of family, tradition, feeding your love...

We read this book in our book group a few years ago.  The consensus was that it was really well written and that the development of Tita through the story was compelling.  I would recommend it.

No, but I definitely want to. I saw the movie if that counts and enjoyed the movie. I honestly did not realize there was a book.

I saw the movie and I absolutely loved it.  I'm wondering if you are considering it for Sophomores...the movie was pretty sexually charged, but then maybe Romeo and Juliet is too.   I didn't know there was a book, but I will now be on the look out for it.  I imagine it is very poetic.
