Does anyone but my family and friends read my hubs now? Just curious... Have a good night.
if you are not part of my family please shoot me a message and let me know what I need to work on so far.
Just found you when I saw your question but I will be happy to read some of your hubs and leave comments. I always leave comments, I think it is just plain old fashion good manners to do so.
Hi Courtney! You are just adorable, your titles on your hubs are captivating, and it seems that your writing, from what I've read, is quite good. What then is the problem? Well, I'm only guessing here, as I am new to Hubpages myself, but I'm going to throw this out there in the hope that others will agree or disagree with me and get some convo going on.......from what I can see, all of your hubs are chapters in a continuous string, and the chapters have high numbers, so that means that if someone stumbles upon one of your hubs, say at chapter 18, they must go back and read 17 hubs to catch up to speed on that one, or risk not being able to catch your story line. Many people don't have the time at any given moment to sit there and read through 17 previous chapters. Even if each chapter is a different story about say a dog, readers will still see it as one long, long story. My suggestion would be to stop writing chapters and just do single stories, period. Or at least make then no more than a couple of chapters. I recently wrote two multi-part hubs, but I also have many other hubs that are poems, articles and stories to choose from to read. I am planning to shoot back over and read some of your stuff. Please correct me, Courtney, if I have misunderstood the chapter thing, I just took a quick look. If I am correct, then it's a simple fix. If I'm wrong, then, hmmm, I will be taking a closer look and try to help you as best that I can, if you would like.

I published my first hub today. The first comment I got remarked that my hub was funny. It's not. I can see that maybe a scan of the first paragraph might lead a casual reader to think that the hub may be going in an amusing direction but how can the death of my wife and my subsequent decision to...

I recently read some reviews on Consumer Affairs, which were absolutely devasting and have got me a little worried. I was wondering if anyone else wrote at similar sites prior to HubPages and why they made the switch, and if they had thought about going back.

Has anyone tried this writing site or know anything positive or negative about it? I just read their terms and it seems as if the writer keeps their copyright to material submitted, but the site has the right to edit and distribute as they like. It requires a paid membership which can be offset by...
