Gertrude Chandler Warner is still listed as author on books written long after her death. I can't find any author names in the books.

I've read most of them to my kids and I'm pretty sure it is a variety of authors.  The books are sometimes uneven in style and word choice.  My kids have loved these books and I used them as a teacher because they are high interest by very low reading level--about 3rd grade (the originals).  The newer books sometimes have a much higher reading level.

Some  author names are corporate pen names. The original woman who wrote Nancy Drew mysteries, for example, used the pen name of Carolyn Keene. When she died lots of writers, male and female, wrote at least one Nancy Drew mystery under that corporate pen name.

The name I seem to recall is Gertrude Chandler Warner.
