I've published several magazine articles, for both print and electronic magazines. I've epublished a novella called The Blind Blacksmith

And I've published 17 hubs (so far). Many of them are on DIY and gardening topics.
My first small poetry book was published some years ago and I've had poetry published online from time to time, mostly in blogs.
Occasionally I send articles off to newspapers and magazines - I've had them published in the Guardian newspaper in the UK and other smaller publications.
I have one published novel, and several articles, poems, cartoons and a few photos. Nothing that ever paid enough to change my lifestyle though.
If you do not mind me asking what is the name of your novel? I would like to take a peek.
Thanks for asking. A Distant Calling, by P. Thorpe Christiansen, available on Kindle or hardcopy from Amazon or www.xlibris.com it is a romantic adventure - mostly G-rated but fun.

Hi, obviously I am nowhere near becoming published for anything, I lack the skills, content and direction. But I figured it might be worth getting a heads up. If anyone knows anything about publishing or has been published and has some advice, then it's much appreciated, as always

There are so many books out there - books by well-known authors, books by newbie authors, and books by self-published authors. What is your criteria for deciding whether to buy a certain book or not? Also, would you buy books by self-published authors? Please share your thoughts.Lena
