Writers who have inspired you..
Who are writers who have inspired you to do something in life? What books of those writers have changed your life?
I really love J.K. Rowling. I grew up with Harry Potter, literally! Those books are fabulous; the writing style, the extra-ordinary world that she imagined and penned in those books! Salute to her imagination. I mean, who would actually come up with the minutest details that the staircases in the Hogwarts school would be 142 or that there was a certain way to open a Golden Snitch?!
I also found the wisest statements in those books said by many of her characters.
Also, Sidney Sheldon was the first author whom I ever read and I love his story-telling style. Many people find faults in his research and plots. I don't know to what extent that is true, but its 'fiction' he was writing, so he had the right to twist the facts to suit his story. I personally recommend you read Master of the Game, and his autobiography, The Best of Me. No matter how many times I read the Best of Me, it never fails to inspire me. That man sure lived an awesome life.
These two people totally got me into thinking that it doesn't matter where you come from, if you have the power in your hands, mind and with your pen, you can write legends!
Edgar Allen Poe, and it may sound old school. But I studied him in high school and wanted to become a writer ever since then. He has inspired my to express my creativity and feelings through my writing and on paper.
I can't remember the author's name, but Stranger In A Strange Land was a book that came to me during the time when I was newly widowed, and it virtually changed everything for me.
Almost every good novel I have ever read has inspired me in some different way and changed some aspect of my life, which is why I think I am such a complex person today. There really are too many writers to name just one or a few.
Annie Besant and C. W. Leadbeater are the authors whose books have helped me change my life. Their books deal with profound subjects in simple language, and compel me to think about life and look at it differently.
hey sushma! I really love Indian history and people related with it.. I admire annie besant but I have not come across her books, but will try to find the books and read them.. Thanks for the feedback!
