Has anyone ever seen a parody written of another hubber's hub here on HP?

For some reason after reading a hub, I have been tempted to write a parody of that hub, not to be mean or spiteful in any manner, but in an affectionate fun manner.  If this has been done before, was it well-received?  Just curious.

Well to be honest I wasnt quite sure what parody meant so I had to google it lol

However I have heard of it done. I am just wondering if the artist should be asked first.

I have never done it myself, I think you need to be a great writer and careful how it is done. Not saying you are not a great writer (speaking in general) , just saying I am not sure I could attempt that .

So you have a hub in mind give it a whirl and see what happens. However I think myself I would ask first. Is that what they do, not sure
    Good luck
    Laurie

Hi Rayne,  I appreciate the answer.  I would make myself the subject of the parody.  I don't know why it just popped into my head, and then I thought, well, I wonder if anyone here on HP has ever written one.  You are right, it needs great thought.

Well if you are making yourself the subject I really do not see the problem
      Good luck

I recently wrote a hub that was meant to be a sort of joke/satire take on how to become a rock star. At the time, I didn't mean to offend anyone or respond to a previously written hub, but now that you ask about parody hubs, I'm rethinking my writing, haha! I hope nobody thought I was trying to make fun of musicians/artists and the journey they take to be stars. It was all in good fun! ; )

Oh, no, I do not believe anyone would have thought that about your hub.  What I am talking about doing is a parody of an actual hub of another hubber, but meant in fun and affection.

Faith - You already know I enjoy a funny Hub and I think this is a great idea.  I have not come across it here but that just makes it a better concept.  You know the Hubbers who would enjoy this, would get the point and not become offended.  I hope you follow through.  It sounds like fun!  Blessings and smiles your way.

Hi shiningirisheyes,  thanks so much for the answer!  And it would be about myself in the parody just in the manner in which the other was written.  No harm to anyone.  Thanks for the encouragement.

I've written a number of parody articles on HubPages. Though none of them are based off a specific writer, just a style. For example, I wrote an article about how to make little or no money on HubPages to mirror all the ones about being profitable. The most common ones I write, however, are supernatural/fantasy themed guides like how to survive the zombie apocalypse or how to care for your werewolf. The only article I ever got backlash for was one I wrote about Ghost Hunting. It was designed to more closely mirror movie ghosts, not actual paranormal research, but one reader interpreted it as an attack on the field. That's why it's always good to include a disclaimer that it isn't to be taken seriously. It's a shame that the article in question was interpreted as an attack because I'm a huge fan of real life paranormal investigators.

Wow, how interesting!  Yes, a disclaimer is good.  And that was a shame someone thought that when it was not intended.  I appreciate the great answer here.
