List the best books you have ever read and why you think they were the best books you ever read. The Bible is of course the best book I've ever read, and People of the Lie by the late Dr. M. Scott Peck is probably second, followed by the texts of my logic class.
The Prince, The Art of Seduction, and The 48 Laws of Power were the best books I have ever read.
They were the best books I ever read because I find it very hard to interact with other individuals and they offered me insights into myself I wouldn't have realized otherwise.
Interesting that you chose M. Scott Peck. The stand-out book in my memory is The Road Less Travelled. I will now find out if my local library stocks your choice. Do plays count? A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Hamlet.
My favorites are Goodbye Things by Fumio Sasaki, Fascinating Womanhood which enriched and ruined my life at the same time and 4 Hour Work Week by Tom Ferris.
That is a tough question, but after a lot of debating with myself, here are my three choices: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas, 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and Estoril by Dejan Tiago Stankovic.
"Hitchhiker's Guide" is pretty good. "Book of Mormon" and "The Light Fantastic" are good too.
Limiting it to three is tough, but in relation to my forum participations, I would offer, from my perspective, Locke's Two Treatise on Government, Asimov's Foundation trilogy, and Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land.
I've read over 10,000 books in my life. It's impossible to choose 3 of them as the top. Sorry! Some Dickens, Twain, and Michener efforts are among my favorites though.
I would say 'Little Women', Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Sherlock Holmes' series and 'Witches' by Roald Dal.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
Boys' Life - Robert R. McCammon
Executioner #1: War Against the Mafia - Don Pendleton
Sad to say I haven't had time to read a book in a while but my favorites throughout the years have been Atlas Shrugged, Lord of the Rings (competely ruined the movies for me) and Shogun.

What is the best fiction or non fiction book you have ever read?I'm in a constant search for good reads, and I found it infinitely easier and more rewarding if I just ask other people what their favorites are (kinda like asking a waiter/waitress what their favorite meal on the menu is... you can...
