   It should not be like this my friend
   you were a child, had not finished growing old
   
   A loyal friend to so many who knew you
   caring and generous I have been told
   
   you have so many who are weeping
   and they just cannot understand why
   
   yesterday you walked among  your friends
   today you are gone, so many cry
   
   We spoke of those things you planned to do
   if someone was hungry you shared your food
   
   I only wish you could see how many mourn you
   your leaving hurt more than a few
   
   and as I looked at your face]book page
   I counted hundreds of friends who loved you
   
   I dont think you were aware of how many
   true friends you had walking with you.

   Didn't know Russel, but losing a friend regardless of age is sad. Life often seems unfair, taking a life so young and seemingly without purpose. I lost my first born child at four months and had to try to understand why a life would be cut short like that. But in the end I realised that small period of time was all the life that was given and during that time that life shined so brightly. Amid sadness of loss it is good to think of how that person attributed to your life and be thankful for that opportunity. Saying goodbye is alway difficult, but memories can be held forever. peace.
