poem to my brother

Updated on May 19, 2012
long ago when you were well
long ago when you were well

you make me sad but even more so mad, because you make mom cry every time she knows that you are high.
in the morning when you awake I see mom bothered because she knows any minute you will bug her for a ride and or for money, so quickly I start to hate the fact that you are my brother.
the things that you do and the things that you say are unbelievable, it's so far fetched and desrespectful
you lie and steal from me and I don't want you to live here, but no matter what you do my mom will forgive you because she loves you unconditionally and you know she won't ever turn her back on you.
you manipulate everything that comes your way, it can be a pretty woman or family member it doesn't matter to you as long as you get what you want from the people who care for you, especially our mom. believe me I ain't trying to judge you I just want you to consider the sadness that you put onto her and we don't want to see your life waste away in such manner...

I am sorry to hear that you had a brother in that situation.I hope one day so soon he will realize how much he has been hurting you both and straighten out.Just keep loving and praying to God ceaselessly to find for him a way to kick that addiction and be safe and sound again.

Wow, beautiful and heartbreaking. I am sorry that your family has to face this. I know that addiction can steal your loved one away, leaving a stranger behind. Parents will never give up on their children no matter how painful it is, even when they are left with someone who no longer resembles their son or daughter. If your brother seems to absorb all of their energy it does not mean they are ignoring you. You are the jewel in their crown and the only place they can come and rest their broken heart for awhile. Stay strong my dear. I will think of you all in my prayers.
