Summerfield: Chapter 19
Chapter 19: Part 1
I dragged myself out of bed at 8 am. I really didn’t want to get up. I wanted 15 more minutes of beauty rest, but I had to train my employees sometime and 10 am was when they would be there waiting on me.
I put on a crisp button up white shirt and black skinny jeans. I put on black sparkly flats and natural makeup sans my red lipstick. I grabbed a black apron with pockets in it and headed to my car.
After everyone arrived, I handed out aprons to the new employees and went over the dress code, rules, and other points from the manual, I then had them go through a practice run. I invited Josh over to act as a customer.
Overall, it went well. So, a younger barista burnt herself a little, but she didn’t have to go to the hospital. They were kind and courteous to Josh and got his order correct. That’s all I ask…for now. We still had a month and a half to work all the kinks out, so we could get everything running smoothly before then.

“Yeah, I mean this was only their first day.”
“What I meant to say is that everything is going to be fine. I’m sure your business is going to do well. There will be people crawling all over this place when it opens.” He smiled at me like he was proud to know me.
“Thank you,” relieved, I let out a breath of air.
Josh, noticing my stress, gave me a quick hug goodbye.
