A Garden of Peace, Rest and Tranquility

Updated on April 18, 2012

Garden plantings and feeders

This garden has Echinacea(coneflowers) both Purple and white, easily grown and spread. This brings butterflies, and goldfinches. You will see on the photo included the goldfinches that go from the heads of the coneflowers to the finchfeeder. Brown eyed susans easily grown and spread. Still photo at the bottom shows orange milkweed in bloom and butterflies on it.

If you are wondering about the sidewalks and driveway, I had terrible concrete and slate conditions. I did not want to deal with the grass and weeds growing up between bricks so, I had the old torn out and that is asphalt impressions after the asphalt is colored. It has been about 6 years and still appears the same although I no longer live there.

The red feeders are hummingbird feeders. The beveled glass chimes I made with copper foil wrapped beveled glass pieces soddered. This was to give me something to look at when the butterflies and hummingbirds or even the flowers were not about. The last set of stills show a hummingbird at the hummingbird feeder looking around.

There was a side garden of roses and a front frow of dusty miller and various small perennials.

This is a butterfly on Orange Milkweed. They love this flower. It is very pretty in orange, it just doesn't last as long in bloom as the coneflowers and brown eyed susans.

This is a side view and it is next to a butterfly garden with various colorful annuals between perennials. The heart shape is just concrete poured in mold with shaped stained glass that was designed and cut ground smooth on edge and inlaid by my son.
