Best Milk Frothers Reviews

Updated on January 19, 2016

Whether your are making cappuccinos, lattes or espressos using a milk frother can greatly improve your creations. The milk frothers are also great for making milkshakes, toppings for desserts or even hot chocolate.

There are a number of different kinds of frothers, in the this article we will review the best milk frothers.

Best selling hand held frother - Aerolatte milk frother

With some frothers you get the milk frothy on the top and watery on the bottom. With the Aerolatte you get creamy consistency all the way through.

The product comes with an recipe sheet with great ideas for fruit shakes and coffee frappes. You can even use the Aerolatte to turn half a glass of milk into a healthy milkshake.

The Aerolatte comes with 2 AA batteries and it's good for about 200 lattes. I recommend getting rechargeable batteries for it. That way you won't have to replace the batteries that frequently.

Cleaning the Aerolatte couldn't be easier. Just dip it in to some washing water, turn it on for 5 seconds, turn it off. Then you take it out, and turn it back on for a couple of seconds, to dry it.

You can froth any type of milk with the Aerolatte. Full fat, semi-skimmed or even skimmed. If, you are going to use it in a cappuccinos you need to first heat the milk in a microwave, without boiling it. If you boil the milk it won't froth well.

When you compare the Aerolatte to the competition it's slightly cheaper and it makes a great frothy latte.

Aerolatte Stainless-Steel Deluxe Edition Frother with Stand

The premium version of the Aerolatte is made from stainless steel and comes with a chrome stand. It only costs an extra $5.

I do think the frother looks better in steel, the stand is handy and it does look more durable.

The way this frother works is you pull the handle up and down a few times, until the milk on the inside froths. The volume of the milk will double. You then leave the froth in there for a bit to thicken up and then you scoop it out with a plastic spoon.

You can either use cold milk or remove the top and put the frother in the microwave, to heat the milk. After use the Bodum Shin can be put through the dishwasher.

Froth Au Lait Frothing Unit

With the Froth Au Lait you just push the button and it automatically heats and froths the milk. The froth really is perfect for for tasty lattes, cappuccinos or dessert toppings. I have done some experimenting and the froth is great on oatmeal, waffles and much more.

I don't like appliances that are hard to clean. Fortunately the Froth Au Lait is very easy to clean. You just let it soak in hot soapy water. Then you rinse it with cold water and whype dry.

Be warned this appliance is not dishwasher safe.

The Froth Au Lait's closest competition is the Nespresso Aeroccino. I really recommend you rather get the Froth Au Lait. The Nespresso Aeroccino is more expensive and the foam isn't as good as the Froth Au Lait's.

The froth you get from the Froth Au Lait is just about the same as that which you get from Starbucks and it's a lot cheaper.

Bialetti Cappuccino and Latte Set

If you use a good type of coffee like illy or Lavazza this set will make a better cup of coffee than Starbucks and of course at a fraction of the cost.

This Bialette stovetop coffeemaker is the traditional Italian one. Just about every household in Italy owns one. They would call the coffee it makes Espresso while we would just consider it normal coffee.

The set is easy to use and practical, more so than the alternatives.

With the frother you can use 1% fat milk, but I have had better results with 2%. Also you need to pump the frother vigorously for a few seconds, pumping it slowly doesn't work as well.

I love hazelnut in my cappuccinos so what I did was to buy a flavoring syrup. I stir it in with the coffee before adding the froth and it's great. I also like to add little cocoa powder on top to make it look better.

I like to go crazy with the foam my problem was that the drinks where too cold. So what I started doing was to heat my coffee cup in the microwave before using it.

I wrote this page for people who are as passionate about their coffee as I am. I hope you found the perfect frother in best milk frothers. If you enjoyed this article you should also read best single cup coffee maker.
