Bissell ProHeat 2x Review

Updated on August 10, 2011

We have all used vacuum cleaners for years and they do an OK job of sucking some of the dust out of carpets. However they can't remove stains or anything sticky out of a carpet, leaving a lot of dirt in there permanently. Deep carpet cleaners have been introduced to address this problem. They work by mixing cleaning formula with very hot water and then pushing that into your carpets. This then loosens up the dirt, stains and so forth, in the carpet, allowing the cleaners to suck it out.

The difference between a normal vacuum and a deep cleaner is very noticeable. Be warned that it might take you quite a while to use one of the cleaners, the first time, because it needs to get out the built up dirt in your carpets. After that it does go faster though.

In Bissell ProHeat 2x review I shortly review the best-selling ProHeat 2x, a model specifically for pet owners and also the best cleaning fluid for use with these machines.

There are basically 2 major brands when it comes to these kind of deep cleaners: Hoover and Bissell. In my opinion the Bissell products are somewhat more powerful and more durable than the Hoover ones.

Bissell ProHeat 2X Select Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner

This upright Bissell ProHeat Deep Carpet Cleaner is twelve amps, and has twelve rotating brushes for deep carpet cleaning. It is lightweight, weighing only 39 pounds. It has edge to edge suction power, and heats the water to help remove tough and deep stains. This cleaner has a floating suspension mechanism that self-adjusts to carpet heights as well as protects your carpet if you leave the machine on unattended; once the machine is in an upright position the brushes will stop spinning on their own.

Bissell ProHeat has a cleansing formula that, when combined with heated water, will take stains out of your carpet, furniture and other upholsteries. The ProHeat is built with smooth large wheels for easy pushing, a thirty foot power cord, a tough stain tool that is great for gummy messes, a heater switch, a heat indicator light, carrying handle, and an easy to clean nozzle. This carpet cleaner has five settings; light clean, normal, rinse, or heavy traffic areas.

The built in heater heats regular tap water to 25 degrees hotter than you originally put in. It has a sensor to keep the water from getting above 190 degrees. The heater switch allows you to turn the heat on and off. The Proheat has two DirtLifter PowerBrush rollers that intensify the cleaning performance. There is a bristle pattern that will safely get out the deep down dirt, and groom the carpet at the same time.

This carpet cleaner is great for carpets, linoleum, hardwood floors, furniture, stairs, and more. It is great for getting out allergens and keeping your floor in a "like new" condition. It also has a scotch guard for extra protection. This cleaner is definitely a great choice for keeping your floors clean and germ free.

It is equipped with a tough-stain tool, upholstery tool, a spraying crevice tool, a handheld Turbobrush, a 3-inch stain removing tool, a 4-inch upholstery tool, and a 6-inch pet-stain eraser tool.

This cleaner is great for pet owners as it gets deep down to get out pet stains and lifts pet hair from deep within the carpet.
