The flowers of the Duet are large, about 4 inches across and continues to produce in vast quantities.

The blooms of the Duet are light pink, with a deeper pink on the reverse. A good repeat bloomer.

With an upright habit the Duet grows 6 to 8 feet tall.

The Duet is a delight to have in the garden ,it is vigorous, it is a very pretty lacy looking rose, the petals actually look ruffled. This rose bush does require full sunlight. It is a good disease resistant bush. The foliage on this rose has shiny dark green leaves. It is upright, with a spreading habit. A really Beautiful bush to have.

A Bouquet Of Roses

One of the benefits of growing your own roses, is having beautiful bouquets of flowers, all season long. With the wide range of colors and sizes, you can easily create a beautiful and natural looking arrangement. The main thing is to be sure not to cross the line between natural and messy. This type of bouquet would be called a Nosegay.

Nosegay: A nosegay bouquet, a round shape and roughly a foot in diameter.

Making a traditional hand-tied rose bouquet

materials needed

An 8 inch round glass bowl..or if you want a smaller bouquet a mason jar or any vase will work

A pair of shears

Florist tape

Roses

Greenery

For this size of glass bowl, use at least two to three dozen roses, using both fully opened flowers, slightly opened and some tight buds, and greenery. You can use and mix in other types of flowers also.

  1. Be sure to harvest the flowers and greenery on the day you are going to be arranging them. Cut the roses, leaving long stems, we will be shortening them to about 8 inches, but we want to start out with longer stems. Remove the foliage from the bottom half of each of the rose stems and cut off any thorns.
  2. Ready.. place three rose stems loosely in your right hand , holding the roses about mid-way. Now take your left hand and give the rose 1/4 turn. Now place 3 more rose on top and give it another 1/4 turn. After you have done this with all the roses and flowers, do the same with the greenery, By doing so you have created a rounded shape of flowers in the center and greenery on the outside of the bouquet.
  3. Using the florist tape tie it around the bouquet as tightly as you can without damaging the plant stems. Florist tape is not sticky on the roll, however once you pull slightly on the tape, it will be come slightly sticky, so that it sticks to itself.
  4. Cut all the stems to about 8 inches. Place your rose bouquet in the bowl filled with water.
