It's that time again...

I love summer as much as the next person, but I do certainly love many aspects of autumn. Halloween costumes and decorations start to appear in stores, leaves fall from the trees, but most of all, the best candle scents emerge. In my opinion, candles for the fall are the very best of all the scented candles. Autumn candles often have a sweet or spicy flair to them. Sometimes you feel like someone is baking in the kitchen just because a candle is burning. Yankee Candle often stocks up on fall candles that give you a sense of warmth and comfort.

2012 is no exception to the rule. Yankee Candle has just rolled out its new fall scents for autumn. The 6 scents that are being highly promoted at this time are: Apple Pumpkin, Season's Blessings, Harvest Welcome, Whoopie Pie, Treehouse Memories, and Caramel Pecan Pie. These scents are being advertised as new scents, although Apple Pumpkin is returning from the past. I have to say, no wonder Apple Pumpkin is returning to Yankee Candle since it is the best of the 6 scents, in my opinion.

Apple Pumpkin

Apple Pumpkin is a warm, wonderful scent (if it is possible for an unlit candle to be warm!) and a great fall color. It is an orange, deep red color. The candle also has apples and pumpkins on the front of it, so it certainly gives it a nice autumn feel.

The scent of the candle has a slight cinnamon touch, with of course, the smell of apples and pumpkin. I would say the apple fragrance is stronger in the candle rather than the pumpkin. It is not that different from an apple cider scented candle, just a little lighter with a touch of pumpkin.

Whoopie Pie!

The next must-have candle on this list is Whoopie Pie!. Whoopie Pie! is an extremely strong chocolate candle. I love chocolate as much as the next person, but you'd better really be in love with it considering the strong scent. Whoopie Pie! is actually so strong it has an exclamation point at the end of the name. Now that is quite a candle!

Harvest Welcome

Harvest Welcome is a good, traditional fall candle. It is orange and the front of the candle is full of pumpkins with a couple of Jack o' Latterns. The candle gives off a spicy pumpkin aroma. When I think of a traditional autumn scent, Harvest Welcome's fragrance comes to mind.

Season's Blessings

In my opinion, Season's Blessings is the most unusual fall candle Yankee Candle is carrying this year. It is a deep purple candle and has a strong fruit odor. Yankee Candle describes the candle as smelling of pears, plums, and grapes. To be honest, I mostly smelled the grape scent.

If you are a fan of wine, this might very well be your favorite fall candle this year. However, if you are like me and not of fan of strong, grape scented products, this might be a candle to pass up.

Treehouse Memories

Treehouse Memories is a candle that is extremely difficult to describe. It is slightly spicy and a little woodsy. Yankee Candle recently released a collection called Man Candles. This is different from the 2 x 4 scented candle, but has a similar quality to it. The front of the candle does have a nice, autumn photo full of leaves changing colors and two children in a tree house.

Caramel Pecan Pie

Normally, I am a huge fan of all things caramel. However, the Caramel Pecan Pie scented candle at Yankee Candle is actually too strong for me. It is extremely sweet, with even a bit of a salty scent to it. I've noticed a trend recently of adding a dash of salt to anything caramel scented or caramel flavored at restaurants, but I prefer my caramel just plain sweet. For that reason, I did have to pass this candle up.
