Cherubs are the second highest order of angels known in the Christian world, next to Archangels. In the Throne Room they were said to stand next to the Throne of God. They are the first angels mentioned in the Bible and guard the gates of Eden. Cherubs are often confused with Putti. The meaning of Putti is "little man". They are spiritual beings described as winged little people.

Cupid is Eros, known in Greek mythology. The practice of depicting him as a winged spirit dates to the Hellenistic and Roman era. He saw has been shown as a young handsome youth and other times as a baby with wings.
