Add a Bistro Set to Your Patio

Updated on April 18, 2013

A Bistro Set is Stylish and Useful

Even before the house sale went through, I knew I wanted am outdoor bistro set. To me they are stylish, fun and a great spot for a quiet conversation.

The problem? Two fold, really. Which bistro set and where to put it? We have a front porch (not much more than an entrance really), a deck and a patio.

Will you help me out? I've narrowed it down to my top 5 bistro set choices. Take a look at each and then vote for your favorite! Maybe then, I'll be able to make a choice before the summer is over!

Note to Self:

Don't forget the cushions!

The sets all look great but I need some cushion for my seat!

Adams Resin Bistro Set - Durable for Outside

Adams Manufacturing 8590-01-3731 Quik-Fold Cafe Bistro Set, Sage

This is a resin material 3 pc, fold away bistro set. I like that it even has a hole in the table for an umbrella. That could come in handy if I put it on the deck -- we get direct sun all day there.

I also like that all 3 pieces fold for easy storage. The chairs are rated to handle up to 250 lbs each and the table can take 40 lbs. This is set is a definite option...

Cast Aluminum Bistro Set - Has the Look of Iron

This set reminds me of the ice cream parlor we used to go to when I was a kid. Those sets were made of iron and very heavy.

This one has the look of iron but is actually made of cast aluminum which makes them easier to move around. I like the off white finish too!

Deciding on a Bistro Set

What Features Do I Want?

Sorting through everything that's out there, I was trying to narrow things down a bit. This is a list of questions I asked myself:

How much space do I have? (check dimensions on bistro sets to be sure they'll fit nicely).

Is not having an umbrella hole in the table a deal breaker?

Is the material long lasting?

Which height table do I prefer -- pub (40") or regular (28" to 30")?

The only thing I knew for sure, was that I would have cushions made for the seats!
