How to decorate your home for less than $500.00?
What would you do if you had little money but a great desire to make your house a home...you would never believe what you can do with little money and alot of creativity.
My number one suggestion to help decorate for $500 or less is to look at decorating magazines and books and figure out what style fits you. There are many books at your local library that can help you with this. You can begin a folder of magazine pictures that include rooms that you like.
Once you decide what you like, make a list of the big items that you are looking for. Shop at garage sales, thrift stores, and "antique" malls that carry vintage items. Vintage furniture is actually better quality than new "McFurniture" that is made today. You don't have to have everything match, and you don't need to buy everything at once. Just keep your plan in mind, and add to it a little at a time.
Start with transforming your bathroom into a wonderful romantic retreat. Buy several sets of thirsty bath towels in your favorite colors. Purchase a large serene picture to hang in your bathroom. Add plenty of large candles around your bathtub and on your counters. Buy several large ferns to go around your tub. Display your favorite magazines in a wicker magazine rack or basket. Purchase clear glass containers and fill with cottonballs, q-tips, bath powder. Find a large glass bowl and fill with your favorite fragrant potpouri. Don't forget to add containers around your tub with your favorite bathoils and bath crystals. Run a tub of relaxing warm water filled with your favorite oil, turn out your lights and light a few candles around your tub....now just relax!
Making your house a home is not all about decorating. After all, how many gorgeously decorated "magazine" homes are there that don't really feel like a home? You don't need to spend a lot of money.
Surround yourself with the things that you find beautiful. You will find these things in all sorts of places - relatives basements (often a great source of furniture), yard sales, flea markets, Craigslist, and freecycle are a few.
Keep clutter under control - this is the main obsticle to having a well decorated home.
Just because it is free doesn't mean it is beautiful enough to have a place in your home.
Create your own art - can be very inexpensive & you don't even have to call yourself an artist to pull it off.

What is the optimum number of words for a hub- 400, 500 or 1000 words?I try to not to write over 500 words as it has been said that people tend to scan articles/hubs or lose interest after 500 words.I also find that breaking up my hubs with bold sub-headings and placing photos or monetized capsules...
