    Home remodeling profitability?

    In the United States, we have seen dramatic shifts in the profitability of home remodeling. Home sales and new home construction is now returning. What do you foresee in this market? Are you investing in the home that you live in? If so, how? Is the return on investment important to you? Or is simply the improvement important?

    Hi Celebrate-
    Far and away, the value of most home improvements is in greater usefulness for, or satisfaction of the current resident.  Very few upgrades result in a full recovery of the investment.  Those that tend to come the closest to reimbursement at sale usually include the addition of a bathroom (particularly when there are too few for the size of the house) and updating an old kitchen.

    Generally speaking, whatever you do, do for your own enjoyment.
