Crystal Bowls - Stunning Centerpieces For The Dining Table

Updated on August 30, 2011

Crystal Bowls

If you're anything like me, then you love crystal. It comes in a variety of different items for the home but here we're talking crystal bowls; elegant, stylish and with a touch of class. Buying a crystal bowl need not cost a small fortune but for quality, you'll be willing to pay the price. If you have the cash to splash and are looking for mid to high price range crystal bowls, take a look at the Baccarat Crystal bowls i've written about in another hub.

If you're looking to buy a crystal bowl, I've searched out the cream of the crop of the crystals! If you're looking for crystal bowls either as something for the home, to add to a collection, or to buy as a gift, you're sure to find some ideas here.

Waterford and Lalique Crystal Bowls

Waterford and Lalique are names greatly associated with high end crystal products, meaning they're also big names for crystal collectors. The English Waterford brand was established in 1783 and the French Lalique in 1885, both are highly regarded crystal brands that create stunning, quality items of crystal for the home.

Crystal bowls make great centerpieces for dining tables, especially if they have a natural source of light shining on them so they glitter and sparkle. Simply placed into the center of a dining table and left in their empty beauty, or maybe filled with rose petals. These crystal bowls make stylish and classy centerpieces for the most lavish of dinner parties.

Crystal Bowls Pricing

Unless you have a set budget, it's sometimes hard to know what to pay for a crystal bowl. If you're looking for something without a recognised brand attached you'll pay a lot less than for crystal bowls that are made by big names. Same as with everything really. It depends on what you're looking for.

If it's a brand associated with high end crystal, then be prepared to pay a high price. Same with designer names. Sometimes, regardless of the brand, the bowl sets itself apart from the rest due to design or style, if you aren't looking for a particular make of crystal, prices will range greatly.

Crystal bowls make great collectable items and if going for a high end brand such as Waterford, Lalique, Baccarat, or maybe a designer name not usually associated with with crystal products, these items are investment pieces as well as gorgeous to look at!

Crystal Bowls - Quality

The way I see it, if you're going to buy a crystal bowl, you're paying for what you get, so you can't expect to pay $50 and get top quality. Crystal is an exquisite material and so it's costs more. If it's a cheaper alternative you're looking for you would need to look at glass bowls.

Crystal bowls are a great way to start a crystal collection, plus they make great gifts. If you choose to use your crystal bowl rather than just display it, they make great fruit bowls. Your selection of fruit will have never looked so expensive!

Crystal bowls can be ornamental or practical, but whatever you choose to do with them, they always look classy and elegant. Everyone who loves crystal should own at least one crystal bowl!
