Exposition Chairs
Barcelona Chairs | Exposition Chairs | Modern Chairs
Exposition chairs got their name from the 1929 International Exposition held in Barcelona, Spain. The original name is the Barcelona chair.
German furniture designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed this modern chair for Germany's entry into the exposition.
The chair's design includes massive suspension stainless steel for the frame, which "requires extreme precision and highest craftsmanship to weld and finish the joints."
The sleek design has stood the test of time. Little has changed from the original chair's design.
